The Substitute Diaries: First Day Back by Don Lorah – Five Stars
Blurb:
I never did like school. So what did I do after graduation? I went to college to become a teacher. I left to chase after all those dreams I had when I was in school, but they didn't pan out. Now I'm starting over as a substitute teacher. I had no idea what was going on behind the scenes. My first day back is more then I bargained for. I knew teachers gave dirty looks but I didn't know they were trying to steal people's souls. Hopefully my first day won't be my last!
ADR S&S Book Review:
When Substitute teacher Mr. Daniels returns to the classroom for the first time after a much needed break from teaching, things aren’t at all what he remembered. Well they are…until they aren’t.
In the Substitute Diaries: First Day Back, Mr. Lorah takes what seems to be a hard luck story about a guy who is at his best doing something he hates, and he turns it inside out, upside down and backwards in this wryly hysterical trip through one man’s mid-life crisis. Several LOL moments and page turning action had me ripping through this short story in no time flat. A very enjoyable read.
Note: I have learned that this short story is now available for your reading pleasure, FREE on Mr. Lorah's web site (see handy link below)! That's Zero Dollars! Do check it out, and while your at it, take a look at his other works. You will be so glad you did!
